GIGASTOR provides the largest capacity in the smallest size at the lowestprice of any tape backup system now available.The Gbyte Magnetic Tape System utilizes the well-proven helical-scanvideo recording technology to provide 2 GB of data capacity in a 5.25-inch form factor as a tape backup system for SPARC-based workstations.Transferring data at 246 KB per second, a full 300 MB disk file can bestored in just 20 minutes. Using the proven video helical-scan formatwith very sophisticated ECC, GIGASTOR can correct for a burst as long as264 bytes in error with as many as 80 additional random errors. Systemfeatures include:
